Started this fundraiser after hearing (pun intended ) that people wanted to support me. I initially felt very uncomfortable making an ask like this, but I feel so thankful to be surrounded by such an understanding community of family, friends, and industry peers.

For a big bday such as 30, I was excited about getting something special for myself like a new instrument, music gear, etc. But it’s been three years since I got my current hearing aid, and that’s about as long as they last. Every few years, I have to shell out $3K+ to make sure I can navigate this world, let alone be able to participate at all in the music industry.

So, for my 30th birthday, I didn’t ask for anything fun, and I didn’t buy myself anything glamorous. Instead, I’ll be putting a down payment on something that insurance has never covered—yet is entirely essential.

The exciting news is, for the first time in my 30 years, technology might be good enough to wear a hearing on both sides! Fingers crossed The cost will be $7,500 for two.
