Our darling friend Ally came home on Sunday night to find her apartment had caught fire and destroyed her belongings and home. Ally’s pride and joy Larry (her dog) was trapped inside during the fire and rushed to the emergency vet where he has stayed for fire related injuries. Ally has slept at the vet as she refused to leave his side after the fire.
Those who know them know that Ally and Larry’s bond is one that is unshakeable and so far Ally has spent upwards of $10,000 on emergency veterinary care. His wellbeing is her only priority at this point. Firefighters reported Larry attempted to flee the fire by climbing into his water bowl and trying to hide, firefighters stated it’s a miracle that Larry survived at all.
Ally has now lost her beautiful home that she worked so hard for along with all her precious photos, art, clothes, shoes and furniture. Ally unfortunately didn’t have contents insurance or pet insurance and is technically classified as homeless. Ally’s mental health has taken a huge blow by this shocking event and she is still traumatised by the events of coming home to discover this tragedy and the living nightmare of finding Larry injured and almost losing him.
His health is improving gradually and by the grace of god we can pray he heals and they can return home again to climb trees and frolic in the gardens again one day.
Ally and Larry need support more than ever to help get through this time in any form whether it’s prayer, kind words, a hug or if you’re able to donate a donation is greatly appreciated.
