Ally is a 9 month old kitten at Paws and Tails Rescue in Brampton, ON Canada. Ally had been rescued from the streets of Windsor. When he came into our care we quickly noticed that he had worms and an upper respiratory infection. While being treated one day we noticed he was extremely sick. We immediately took him to the vet and found out he had a fever of 40 degrees celsius. He was treated for the fever but we knew something else must be wrong. The vet did blood tests and an ultrasound, the ultrasound showed signs of what was believed to be a tumor on/near his kidneys. We were extremely disheartened to hear this. But then the next day we got a call back from the vet and upon further inspection it is now believed that he has FIP ( Feline Infectious Peritonitis) which is incredibly deadly if gone untreated. There are two different types of FIP, wet and dry. Wet can be found through ultrasound like in Ally's case and dry which is neurological ( like daisy one of our other kittens who we believe has FIP as well) which can only be found through MRI. Through help from vets and specialists we have been able to get medication that we are hopeful will allow him to have a full life! He also has ocular damage because of the disease. Any donation to help pay for his medication is incredibly helpful.
