Hi, my name is Allison, and I’m a high school student who was recently accepted into a summer study abroad program through CIEE. This is an opportunity that means so much to me, both personally and for my future. I’ve always been really involved in school and worked hard to stay focused on my goals. Being accepted into this program felt like a huge step forward for me, especially because I haven’t had many opportunities to travel or experience things outside of my normal environment.
Ever since I started getting interested in engineering, I’ve been drawn to how things work, especially cars. Not just driving them, but understanding how they’re built, how they can be improved, and how they shape the world around us. Most of what I’ve learned has come from school and my own curiosity. That’s why this program feels so important: it’s a chance to finally see, learn, and experience things beyond my everyday life. Studying abroad would allow me to see how engineering is used in the real world, in different countries, and in ways I can’t learn from a classroom alone. It would give me exposure to new ideas, new people, and new possibilities that could shape my entire future. This isn’t just something I want to do, it’s something that could genuinely change the direction of my life. It would help me grow not only as a student, but as a person who wants to build something meaningful in the future. I don’t want to miss out on this opportunity just because of financial limitations.
I was awarded a scholarship, but I still need to pay a deposit by May 1st to secure my spot. I’m currently looking for a job and doing everything I can, but with such a short deadline, I can’t do this alone. If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean everything to me. And if you can’t donate, sharing this would help more than you know. This opportunity would allow me to grow, learn, and take a huge step toward my future goals. I truly don’t want to lose it because of finances. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support.
