Urgent help for deteriorating spine from radiation

My name is Judith and I am organizing this GoFundMe campaign. For many years now both my sister and her husband have been grappling with serious health issues. Ralph has battled cancer and Allison had to have a metal rod surgically inserted into her spine. The rod extends up into her neck, thus preventing her from turning her head side to side. During that time Ralph was at her side every minute and even helped her learn how to do very basic things again. He’s very devoted to her and caring for her. 

Due to the radiation Ralph received for his cancer, there has been major degeneration of his spine. This causes him severe pain 24 hours a day. Ralph has radiation fibrosis from t6-l5 which is progressive and causes severe nerve pain and stiffness making it difficult to dress himself and do any kind of physical activity which is leading to severe deconditoning of his spine, muscles and ligaments He is on 11 different medications and goes regularly for pain injections. Sadly, nothing has been able to alleviate his pain, so he suffers daily. At this point the tables have turned and Allison now has to care for Ralph and would do that a 100 times over.  In order to assist him to even get out of bed, Allison has to lean down and pull him up, which is causing her pain and injuring her. She goes for regular pain injections all the way up to Englewood.  On top of that, Ralph has had some major dental work done and in addition a bone graft. Allison has ones coming up, both of their dental care are necessary. They just seem to keep getting hit at every turn. They are basically homebound, except for trips to the doctors for them both.

We are trying to raise some funds to be able to assist them as they are on a very limited income and have applied for every possible assistance available from the State. Under normal circumstances, the solution would be to get a job but neither are physically capable and any “income” would impact the assistance and benefits they receive.  Any and all support is greatly appreciated. They will both be eternally grateful.

We are hoping to raise funds to get a bed that will assist him with sitting up in order to get out of bed. With the current situation Allison is doing it and and causing even more damage to her neck and back. We also want to help cover medical bills and medicines not covered by insurance. We know times are tight for all but every $1 we can raise will go to directly to them.
