My name is Cathy, and I am creating this fundraiser to help my daughter.
At the young age of 27, Allison is about to go through her 2nd fight with cancer. At the age of 20, there was a lump found in her ankle that turned out to be clear cell sarcoma, a soft tissue cancer. During that time, she was a junior in college trying to finish up that year of school and deal with this diagnosis. The tumor and all margins were removed, and it was thought to be in the clear.
For the past 5 years, she has gone on to start a life that includes her becoming a teacher, a fiancée, and a mother.
Allison has a 10-month-old that is the center of her world, and clearly, she is the center of her daughter's world.
A few months ago, Allison noticed another bump in her ankle. At first, she really didn't think much about it. She thought maybe it was scar tissue from the previous surgeries, but then it started to get bigger.
She went to the doctor for an MRI, and our worst fears came true. The cancer was back, and it was bigger this time.
The doctor told her it was a very aggressive tumor and has encased her bones and blood vessels in her foot. The only way to get all the tumor this time is to amputate her foot.
This brings me to why I'm here writing this. She will have enough to worry about just trying to recover, deal with her new normal, and still being a mommy. Worrying about money isn't something she needs to deal with.
There will be mass amounts of medical bills and just plain living expenses.
Anything will be a great help to them as they try and navigate this new chapter in their lives.
Thank you from the bottom of Allison's, Tristian's, Kollins', and Frank's and my heart.
