I’m Nicolette and 2025 has been an awful year after the loss of my son, Remy, and now the arrival of my daughter who unexpectedly has the same lung disease that took Remy from us. I’ve had to navigate through a lot of grief and trauma, and having my sister, Allison, by my side through it has been the biggest blessing. As you know, we have been in Houston at Texas Children’s Hospital for 2 months now.

Allison lives in NY and has been flying back and forth on the weekends from Texas to NY to work a few shifts at her serving job to cover her rent/bills back in New York. It’s wild behavior, but it’s such a testament to how strongly she loves and commits to those she cares for. She’s doing it all for Brynn and I so that she can be here, and that I am not alone throughout this journey that feels impossible. However, I’d love to raise a little bit of money for her so she doesn’t need to fly back in August and can stay with Brynn and I as we work toward discharge and getting her home!
