Please Help Allison Get Her Service Dog

Meet Allison. Many know her as Alli. Allison is 19, a full-time college student, and works as an assistant manager at a local small business. She loves family, dancing, the beach, art and friends. What many don’t know is Allison struggles dealing with daily activities, such as attending class at Cuesta, eating out at a restaurant, or even going to the grocery store .

 

Approximately 3 years ago she was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, as well as OCD. She has struggled with this on some level her whole life. These feelings of anxiety and panic interfere with daily activities, are difficult to control, and are physically debilitating as it happens. This has Allison dependent on family to help her through these moments. The desire to live a life of independence is our goal for her. Her desire to continue her education and transfer to an animation school is on hold due to her anxiety. That is where you can help! We are raising money to help with the cost in the training of a psychiatric service dog.

 

While under the care of her doctor, her symptoms have improved some, yet it has been determined that Allison would benefit from a service dog in order to support her mental health and independence. The cost of a psychiatric service animal is $19,000.

 

Ways that the service dog will help:

 

1. Provide pressure therapy during an anxiety attack

2. Alert her before an attack so that she can take preventative medication and/or get to a safe and secure location

3. Get help if needed when she is not able to, as it can become debilitating

4. Retrieve medication and phone if she is not able to

5. Provide emotional support when dealing with daily activities

 

We are asking for your help. A down payment of $7,500 is needed before Allison can be matched with a dog so that the training can begin.
