Allie Williams needs your help to get some wheels!
She champions her life while fighting the effects of Spinal Muscular Atrophy II. Despite being told she would die at 6 yrs old, she has managed to live a full live. She will be graduating from Oklahoma State University Greenwood School of Music with a BA in Music in Dec 2020 and has recently began taking a new treatment for her disorder called Evrysdi. She is gaining some movement back that she has lost over the years and plans on living a long and healthy life the way things are going!
With graduation around the corner, she needs reliable transportation to help find a job, go to the grocery store, go to doctor's appointments, and even visit family who live in other cities and states. She has a van that is not reliable and probably isn't safe. One of the doors is has a five inch gap into the outside that will not close, and parts of it are literally held on by duct tape, but it's all she has for now. She has saved some money for a down payment and has great credit for a loan, but wheelchair accessible vans that are in good enough shape to last 10 years or more start at $30,000 for used. The lock Allie will need on her chair and the van to keep her safe when traveling alone is a $3,000 piece of equipment in addition to the van cost. (Would you believe that car sales lots actually tell people to start GoFundMe accounts for wheelchair accessible vans because there is no real help out there for them and they cost so much?!?)
Please help her continue her active life. Please consider donating to her van fundraiser. Our goal is $5,000. With this as a down payment, the remainder of the payments should be within the monthly budget Allie can handle. Any amount no matter how small will add to this and the money will be kept in her ABLE savings account until she is ready to purchase her vehicle.
If you wanted to get Allie a college graduation gift, gifting to this fund is the way to go!
Thank you for any help you can provide or any shares of this fundraiser-share it with anyone and everyone, every bit counts!
