Hi, my name is Melissa & I am making this fundraiser for a friend of mine whose son is going through some serious medical issues.
Here is his story:
On January 19th, Allie and Cory received news that no parents are ever prepared to hear. Doctors discovered a large tumor in Zane’s fibula — the bone in his lower leg.
At this time, doctors are still unable to determine exactly what the tumor is. What they do know is that it has grown quickly and will require surgery to remove it. The waiting, the uncertainty, and the fear of what comes next have been incredibly overwhelming for their family.
Zane is such a strong and brave kid. He should be focused on being a child — not facing hospital visits, scans, and surgery. Allie and Cory are doing everything they can to stay strong for him, but the emotional and financial strain is becoming heavy.
While we are grateful for Canada’s healthcare system, many of the associated costs are not covered. Between specialist appointments, diagnostic imaging, travel to larger centres for care, hospital parking, accommodations, meals away from home, physiotherapy, and time off work, the expenses are adding up quickly.
As Zane prepares for surgery and the recovery that will follow, Allie and Cory need to focus on being by his side — not worrying about gas, hotel stays, missed paycheques, and mounting out-of-pocket costs.
We are asking for support to help ease this financial burden so they can give Zane their full attention during surgery, recovery, and whatever comes next.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward:
Travel to specialists and hospital appointments
Accommodation and meals during out-of-town care
Hospital parking and transportation costs
Physiotherapy and rehabilitation
Lost wages while caring for Zane
Unexpected expenses throughout recovery
If you’re unable to give financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Zane in your thoughts and prayers.
This is an uncertain and frightening time, but with the love and support of family, friends, and community, Allie, Cory, and Zane won’t have to walk through it alone.
Thank you for standing with them.
