I'm raising funds to cover genetic testing for hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), dental work, and a rigid ultralight manual wheelchair. My health insurance only covers two dental implants a year, but I need eight total. My current wheelchair weighs 350 pounds and won't fit in my husband's car, making it nearly impossible for me to get out and about. On top of that, I've been diagnosed with hEDS/HMS, three brain injuries, and a spinal cord injury, which makes daily life incredibly challenging.
Getting genetic testing is crucial for me to prepare for hEDS/HSD and MCAS in the future. It would also mean being believed about my rare disease, which is so important to me. A lighter wheelchair would let me travel with my husband and regain some independence, opening up my world in ways I haven't experienced in a long time. Dental work would help me look like myself again and allow me to sing much better, which is something I truly miss.
I'm asking for your support to help me get the diagnosis, mobility, and dental care I need. Your help would give me hope for a better future and make a real difference in my life.
