Help Alleviate Raquel's Financial Strain from Medical Bills

Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

I feel deeply moved to create this fundraiser for my long-time friend Raquel Mejia. Raquel and I went to high school together over 10 years ago and shes always been such a great friend and mentor to me. I refer to her as "Mama Raq" because of her nurturing nature.

Earlier this year, Raquel got diagnosed with a very rare and severe breast cancer at the age of 27. (Background: her mother passed away from the same cancer at her age, so one can imagine how scary that must have been for her and her family). Despite any feeling of fear she may have felt, Raquel has had the most inspiring outlook during her treatment- remaining optimistic, brave, and resilient and showing constant gratitude for her support system.

Throughout her treatment, Raquel has been earning little to no income, Ubering when she is able to in order to make some sort of income while doing treatment. She was denied disability even though she hasnt been able to physically work due to the health implications. As a result, Raquel has used up all her savings and finances towards treatment, medical appointments, and medication.

I am hoping to raise $15,000 to help alleviate some of the financial depletion she has faced. Your support will not only provide immediate relief but will also allow Raquel to focus on her mental and physical recovery and health.
