Help Allen see the Beach before he passes
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Amy, Allen’s wife. We have been married 32!years and have two big furbabies. In 2013 Allen was diagnosed with stage III B rectal cancer and underwent treatment of chemo and radiation and then had surgery to remove the tumor. In 2015 because of radiation damage he required having his bladder and other things removed. In 2017 and 2018 he had lung cancer twice. He then developed severe heart problems and had three heart attacks and is not a surgical candidate for any type of surgery. He was in the hospital December 2023 and decided then to go on hospice. Our journey with hospice started 12/31/23.
Allen has always been a homebody but loved loved going to the beach. He has always put me his wife first and has always taken care of me and now the roles are reversed and I am taking care of him. I want to help him enjoy life and what he has left. I want to get him to the beach where he loves it. He isn’t able to walk very far because of severe breathing issues but just being able to sit and watch and hear the ocean I believe would make him so happy.
we don’t have a lot of money because when I have to be off to stay with him I’m not getting paid because of my PTO being so low. I am asking if you want to help us achieve this goal it would be greatly appreciated. They haven’t given us a length of time that he has left but hospice patients usually are admitted and have 6’months or less to live. I have asked for 5,000 dollars because I know we are coming up on summer before long and it is more expensive to go to the beach in the summer. We need a small condo because of all the items we have to bring with us to help keep him comfortable.
