Help Bring Allen Flynn Home After a Life-Altering Stroke
In February of this year, our dad, Allen Flynn (age 57), suffered a devastating ischemic stroke in his brainstem that left him completely paralyzed. Since then, our lives have been turned upside down.
The stroke took away his ability to move, speak, eat, or drink. He had to be placed on a ventilator and now lives with a tracheostomy and a feeding tube. Though he remains fully paralyzed, he is fighting every day to regain the ability to swallow and speak. We’ve learned to read his lips to communicate, and he continues therapy with unwavering determination.
To bring him home where he belongs, we’ve had to face a long list of unexpected and overwhelming expenses. These include critical home modifications, a hospital-style bed, a mechanical lift, and other specialized medical equipment. On top of that, Allen now requires 24/7 care, which brings additional costs for skilled caregiving, safety equipment, and daily medical needs. These expenses continue to grow as his condition requires constant attention and support.
Allen is not only a dad to me and my brother Chris, but also a proud and loving Papaw to his 2-year-old granddaughter. Their bond is something special, and she has become one of his biggest sources of motivation to keep pushing forward through the pain and challenges. Every day, he works hard in therapy with the hope of being able to talk to her again, to hug her, and to be the Papaw she remembers. Our greatest hope is to give him the comfort, dignity, and care he deserves, surrounded by the people who love him most.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward helping us cover these medical and home care expenses. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
