Help Allen Crabtree and family!
Donation protected
I am making this Go Fund Me in hopes that we can help Allen, his wife and children get through this trying time. Allen has been on a roller coaster of a journey since he had back surgery in October.
He had the back surgery on October 25th and two of the pins came loose around two weeks after, he lost all feeling in his lower extremities and fell. That led to another back surgery that came along on November 10th. However, he wasn't recovering like he should have and was still very weak but pushed on. After this past Thanksgiving he began to complain of right leg pain and just simply could not get up or walk at all. He was flown out by Lifestar to UT hospital on December 2nd.
Allen is now Septic with MRSA and Staph in his bloodstream. He has had a third back surgery to remove infection and a wound vac has been placed. They also done a fourth procedure to flush out infection in his right knee. He is currently in Renal Failure but kidney function has improved over the last couple of days. They cannot keep his fever down but his blood pressure has been stabilized for now. One thing led to another and he has also developed Endocarditis and Osteomyelitis. He has a feeding tube in his nose for nutrition and water.
As of yesterday (12/8) they have confirmed he also has several small blood clots in his right lung. He has been placed on a heparin drip. He cannot speak much but he does try to communicate when awake. This family really needs your prayers. The goal was to get him better and get him home for Christmas but we all know plans can change. We are leaving God in control and can only try to be optimistic during this time. If you can donate something or anything to help with medical expenses, food, and gas for this family it would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. Send prayers our way.
Keep the prayers coming! As of 12/15 Allen is slowly but surely feeling better. He passed his swallow test and can now have thickened liquids. He is still getting medication for the blood clots in his lung. His right leg is swelling significantly so they have it wrapped from hip to ankle, however he can wiggle his toes and slightly move the foot. His speech is improving every day. We cannot thank you all enough for the donations and prayers. ❤️
