If you know ALJ, you know how much her dog Pilsner means to her. Sweet, gentle, and devoted, Pilsner is the absolute best girl. She loves walks, cuddles, and quality time with her best friend Amaro the cat.

Last week, ALJ discovered a lump on Pilsner’s head. She took Pilsner in to the vet and learned the lump was cancerous. Right away, Alexandra scheduled surgery to remove the lump. The procedure went smoothly, but the next morning Alexandra woke up to Pilsner vomiting blood.

It turned out Pilsner was experiencing a rare, life-threatening reaction to the anesthesia. Alexandra did what any pet owner would do: she made sure Pilsner received every bit of care needed to make it through, no matter the cost. After three ER visits, X-rays, meds, and a barrage of tests — Pilsner is finally starting to stabilize.

Over the course of these 48 terrifying hours, ALJ has racked up nearly $8,000 in vet bills - with more follow-up visits ahead. This is an INSANE amount of money.
