Please Help My Daughter Aliya Sims Defend Herself

On Saturday, September 5, 2020 a neighbor forced his way into my daughter’s and her father’s house and physically attacked her father. Her father started screaming for her help, and my daughter ran downstairs to see what was going on. The neighbor was on top of her father assaulting him, so she came to his defense, and ended up getting assaulted as well before getting the neighbor out of their house. The police were called, and reports were taken. The neighbor was originally charged with either assault or breaking and entering. My daughter and her father were charged with aggravated assault 1 and aggravated assault 2. On the day of their preliminary hearing, ALL charges were dismissed against the neighbor, and the DA is going forward with prosecuting my daughter and her father for the aggravated assault charges. Yes, this man forced his way into THEIR home, assaulted BOTH of them, got ALL of his charges dismissed, and my daughter and her father are being prosecuted!!! Pennsylvania follows the Castle Doctrine, so how is this possible? Did I mention that the neighbor is white??? My daughter has NEVER been in ANY kind of trouble before, and now has to retain a new attorney. My daughter has spoken with a good attorney who has agreed to represent her, but needs help paying his fees. ANYTHING that anyone can contribute will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
