Hi, my name Is Raymond Noel. I am fundraising for my Daughter-In-Law, Alison Noel who recently was diagnosed with Mucosal Cancer.

Mucosal melanoma is a rare and aggressive type of cancer that starts in mucosa (mucous membrane). This is soft tissue that lines organs and other areas throughout your body. By the time it’s diagnosed, most mucosal melanoma already has spread (metastasized).

Alison, 46 years old, is married to my oldest son, Nathan. Our family has experienced cancer battles from various relatives over the years, including our Mother, Sister and two aunts all who have passed. Last year my wife's sister also succumbed to her cancer and her brother is currently valiantly dealing with his cancer diagnosis.

Current diagnostic tests for Alison have confirmed the cancer is aggressive and serious. She has undergone bloodwork, PET scan and MIR scan here in Saint John.

Her Oncologist has started her on Immunol therapy to help shrink the growth. Alison and Nathan are scheduled to travel to Halifax in March , a visit set up by her Oncologist here to be seen by a specialist there.

Alison has been off work now for over a month and has not as yet received any funds from Employment Insurance although that is being processed. Her and Nathan have worked hard and diligently for over 20 years in a retail supermarket in Saint John and while Nathan is still working, however by necessity he has and will continue to have to take time off to assist Alison with her care and travel as necessary.

Faced with Mortgage payments on their home, car payment and the usual living expenses, they are now faced with an uncertain future involving medical expenses involving travel, accommodation, meals etc.

and with Alison's loss of wages for as yet an undetermined time they are at risk of depleting the rest of their savings as Alison is bravely and with a positive attitude fighting for a chance to continue her life of love for my son Nathan, her family, our family and her desire to be back at work contributing to their ongoing success to date.
