Hello friends and anyone else. I am Alison Lawrence. I live in Raleigh, NC and I am a self employed Voice (singing) teacher, actor, playwright, director, musical director, former florist and crafter wanna-be. I love all animals (snakes not so much) but see no purpose or need for mosquitoes. Right now I live with 2 beautiful cats and 2 beautiful dogs...all four of them are rescues. Someday, I want to open an animal rescue. But enough of that...

I have been living in and renting my current home for 15 years and I love it. I have my music studio in the home which is where I teach most of the time. The picture of Irises are ones I planted here the first year I lived here and they are still blooming.

The past few years have been rough financially because of lack of work. The first 3 months of the year I was working 10 (yes, ten!) part time jobs to make ends meet. It was really more like full time jobs. It was not easy on me, but I did it...As we all have experienced over the past few years our basic needs - groceries, household bills, RENT, well, everything have been increasing every month. The months of April and May, I have not had those contracts with the 10 part time jobs and having little to no savings, I am in danger of being evicted. I have tried to get all sorts of loans and other help to no avail, so I am asking for help from you all. This is not easy for me...I rarely ask for help on anything and usually am offering to help others as I can because I believe that is a natural instinct to being a human being and part of a mission larger than myself. I do have some students and another part time job, but it is not enough to get me through this month of May and get me started in June when another contract will start up. I need to raise these funds by the end of this week so I can pay my rent for May, my water and cell phone.

Please help if you can. I am grateful for every penny and hope that I can pay it forward in the future and help others when they need a boost.
