Hi, I'm Alison, or Beth as you may know me. On February 14th I totaled my car. I'm on SSDI and didn't have collision insurance, and as the only driver in my household full of disabled people, it's been a real struggle.

the great news is, I have an angel of a friend named Kat who is giving me her old car for cheap. $500. Her father is a mechanic and she is getting it fixed by him for free, parts included, because they are incredibly generous people.

Kat lives in DC, I live in Florida. The plan is for Kat to drive the car down and use her airline miles to fly back to DC for free. She has been EXTREMELY generous in helping me out and I would like to at least cover her expenses for the road trip down from DC as well as raise the funds I need to pay the $500 for the car, as well as administrative fees with the state.

Even if it's just a few bucks, it helps tremendously. Even if you're just sharing. It's really hard to live in a house full of very disabled people and no transportation, and I'm the only one in my house who even has a driver's license, living in very unfriendly south Florida suburbia. As I have MS and the heat is extreme, public transit is not an option for me.
