As some of you may know, Alison and David’s father suddenly passed away on June 9, 2025. He was surrounded by his loved ones.

David William Mays Sr. was known for his quick wit, laughter, kindness, a long life of playing guitar, and a deep love for his family. This loss has hit everyone very hard. His memory lives on through his family in Tennessee, his children Alison and David, his grandchildren Tyler and Dayana, his great grandchild Audrey, his life companions Karen and Kelly, his many friends along the way, and the multiple youtube videos he uploaded of the songs he wrote and played with love and enthusiasm.

Alison and her family have not only lovingly taken on the huge emotional task of losing David, but the financial one as well. All of your gracious donations will go towards memorial arrangements, getting his affairs in order in general, and allowing the family to take the time off work they need in order to make all of this happen while grieving.

All extra donations will be put equally into a trust for David’s 7 year old granddaughter Dayana, and his 3 year old great granddaughter Audrey.
