Help Alisha's Family Secure a Vehicle

Donation protected

We aim to use the funds from the GoFundMe account to buy a secure and dependable vehicle for our growing family. Considering that any used vehicle requires maintenance, we plan ahead for these expenses.
We don't have a car at the moment and are still arranging rides to work, our children's therapy appointments for autism, and doctor appointments for the new baby. The baby could arrive between 35 and 38 weeks, so we have doctor appointments every two weeks and ultrasound appointments every week to monitor the baby's safety. We still need transportation for many of these appointments.

  • INTRO!!!
My name is Alisha Fisher. I have been in college at Montana State University since 2009. I have three degrees: a B.A. in education and a B.F.A In art focusing on printmaking, and working on a Master's in Native American studies.

Despite being a single mother and juggling temporary jobs, I have been dedicated to my education while raising three children, two of whom have autism.

A few years ago, I found a supportive partner named Mackenzie Rachel.

From the beginning, he embraced my children as if they were his own. We currently have three preteens – Emma, Ronnie, and Kayla – and we look forward to welcoming our first child together soon.
I also currently work at an early learning center as a Lead teacher in the Infant room.

We've certainly been through a lot this past year, and it's important to acknowledge our challenges.

I broke my foot and leg in August 2023 and was not able to work or walk until October 2023. I was welcomed back to work in a boot in mid-October 2023. I work at an early learning center with infants from 2 months to 1 year old.

From August to October, I faced the challenge of learning to walk while striving to provide for my family. It was difficult as we had to make up for overdue bills such as rent, electricity, and other personal debts.

In December 2023, we discovered that we were expecting an addition to our little family, with a due date of August 18th, 2024.

During this time, I persevered through physical therapy until January 2024.

In February 2024, after graduating from physical therapy. I took on a second part-time job to catch up on overdue bills following the brake in my leg and foot and save up for my new baby's arrival. I worked both jobs until I was 31 weeks pregnant.

Unfortunately, the physical demands of the additional part-time job took a toll on my body, and I found it challenging to keep up with the tasks.
I fainted an hour before my second shift at my second job.
For the safety and well-being of my baby, I had to make the difficult decision to stop working that job. The positive outcome was that I could finally catch up on our debts and save a little for the future.

We've recently encountered a series of unfortunate events. At the beginning of April, we had two running vehicles. In the middle of June they both are no longer running.

Our van (named Mitchell) stopped running and needed a new engine in April. I planned to use the money I saved from having a second job to buy a new engine.

Unfortunately, before I purchased the engine in May 2024, we received our 30-day notice to move. We pleaded to stay at our unit for another 6 months or asked for a month-to-month plan to have less stress on our family. We were denied.

Our little money saved went to rent and deposit for our new apartment and taking out a temporary loan, leaving us to start over again with no extra money saved. Now in debt to a new loan that helped us to move.

Just this past week, (June 24th, 2024) from moving and running our car back and forth. Our only vehicle running (Murphy) had died. The diagnosis is unclear, but we suspected we found gasoline in the oil tank.

We have contacted our community for help, such as Family Promise and Love Inc., and used resources such as WIC and food stamps. In response to the community's urgent needs, we eagerly await assistance from multiple programs.

Since I recently stopped working my second part-time job and paid for our last month and the new apartment's rent and deposit in June, we are still looking for options for extra cash to contribute to our new baby, let alone a new vehicle.

When I reach rock bottom moments like this, I am reminded of a promise I made to my children the first time I held each of them. "Your life will not be like mine was growing up; it will be better, and I will be here for you."

We are connecting with GoFundMe for assistance because my job at the early learning center only covers rent and utilities.

update 6/18/2024:
we have gone into delivery a month early

currently, I am on bed rest

two IVs instead of one.

Update 7/19: While in the hospital, another person hit our parked Jeep, causing more damage to the vehicle. Luckily, our roommate witnessed everything and ran out to get information and take pictures of the accident.

Update- July 20, 2024
Ronan Anaeva-Nahkoha Rachel was born!!!

July 24th, 2024- Finally Get to go home after a week of staying at the hospital

Update- July 25th, 2024:
We still need our vehicle.

We had Baby Ronan at 35 weeks and 5 days.
I am now on maternity leave; I do not have Maternity pay. I was planning to work until labor, but since my baby is now a month early, I have less time to prepare financially. With all the mishaps, we are getting by, but not for long.
I also went through surgery so I am on bed rest for 8 weeks.
I am unable to use any of my stomach muscles, and riding in a vehicle is so painful at the moment.

Update on baby Ronan-
We had our first check-in since leaving the hospital.
When he was born, he was 4 lbs 10.5 oz. Today, he is 4 lbs 2 oz.
The doctors said it is normal for premature boys to lose weight.
We had him on a rigorous eating schedule and supplemented with formula and breastmilk. We have been upgraded to a new formula and breastmilk plan.
The doctor described him as a feisty little man. Our goal is to get him caught up on his weight, but overall, this little dude is very healthy. Our family is so blessed and happy to be together at home.

So, we are now looking for other sources of income to supplement my portion of the rent.

So now I have also updated our GoFundMe plan.
$2100 for vehicle repairs
$875 rent in August
$875 rent in September
$50 GoFundMe Fee.

I'm deeply grateful for the kindness of those who have gifted us with used baby items. Any additional support would mean the world to us, and even sharing our story could significantly impact our journey.

We have several different fundraising ideas, and this is one of them. Thank you for reading our story. We would greatly appreciate any support you can give.
