Darius’ Craniotomy Surgery

Hello, 

 

I am hoping we can come together as a community to help support Team Darius!

His Mom hasn’t worked since Darius got admitted to Children’s Hospital on Oct, 9th.

Alisha has been advised to take off work until 01/31/2022 

 The CT scans in Nanaimo showed an abscess behind his right eye.
 
 Darius arrived at BC Children’s Hospital on October, 10th with MRSA and  Orbital Cellulitis. 

( It turned into a Potts Puffy Tumour. )
sometimes a life threatening condition and it was for Darius. 

 

 On October, 19th a CT scan was repeated because  a visible lump, his mom noticed  above his eyebrows. 

 

The results showed three abscesses,  one under his eye, one on his forehead, and one on the very top of his head.

 

The medical team said they needed to act fast and he had surgery later that day.

 

His surgical team included a  neurologist, ophthalmologist, and Otolaryngologist ( ENT ).

 

We have a very long, healing journey ahead of us.

 Six more weeks of IV antibiotics in hospital post surgery. 

 

Darius is doing okay, some days are better than others.
