Help Alisa, Timothy, and Baby Balaquiot

Hi, my name is Aisha Balaquiot.

I am fundraising for my my sister-in-law, Alisa, my brother, Timothy and their soon to be baby. I have known Alisa for what feels like a lifetime. She and my brother were middle school sweethearts. They have been an example of love and stability my whole life.

In April, Timothy and Alisa found out they were pregnant. About 3 weeks later, they found a cyst. During the month of May Alisa experienced a range of low grade fevers, intense pain, nausea, and shaking. After a visit to the ER, they found that the cyst had grown considerably. The best plan of action was to remove the mass as it was compromising her uterus.

On June 17th Alisa had open surgery. After extensive testing results showed that Alisa has High Grade Serous Ovarian Carcinoma, Stage 1. On July 16th Alisa started her first session of chemotherapy. She will undergo a total of six rounds. Her last session is scheduled a month before Baby Balaquiot's due date in December.

Alisa, Timothy and Baby Balaquiot need your help. We're looking to raise at least $15k to cover the cost of chemotherapy, medication, cord blood/stem cell banking, and other expenses that may arise on this journey.

If you have ever met my brother you know that he would drop anything and everything for the people he loves.

He has such a giving heart, and he cares so deeply for his community. If you have ever met Alisa, you know she is a fighter. You know how strong, intelligent, and beautiful she is. These two have already done such an amazing job building a life filled with much joy, love and support. I can't wait to watch them become parents to this beautiful baby boy. I can't think of two people more deserving than them.
