My name is Alisa Salley Rogers, of Lubbock, Texas. My husband was a Disabled American Veteran who served in the US Air Force. Very quickly I became his caregiver while working. I stopped working after my husband needed more of my care. In 2022, I was able to start earning a stipend from the VA which paid me to take care of my husband. My husband died rather suddenly in February of this year. He died without anything- no will, no life insurance, and no final wishes. I had to pay for his funeral expenses and the burial plot. I have my own physical limitations so finding work isn't easy. Money is rapidly drying up. I am still waiting for the VA to settle my survivor's claim. I can't earn Social Security survivor benefits until I'm 60 which is a little over a year away. I'm doing some online training for a job but that takes time. Meanwhile I simply need a little help with expenses including medical and rehab care.
