Hello, we are A Seat at the Table Books and we are raising funds for our employee, Alisa.

Do you know Alisa? You may recognize her as a barista-bookseller at A Seat at the Table Books, or you may be familiar with her as a local tarot reader, musician, community priestess, author and artist. During this holiday season, she finds herself in a very difficult position and we are asking for our community to help.

On December 10, Alisa was the victim of vandalism to her vehicle. She returned from sharing the joy of books with our community to find the passenger window of her Prius smashed in and a brand new bag (a holiday gift from her husband) that contained books and personal documents missing. After taking photos and turning on the car, she learned that the catalytic converter had also been stolen, despite having an after-market shield to prevent such theft. The car is currently in the auto-shop awaiting repair.

While her insurance covers a significant portion of the cost, the deductible is still incredibly high at $2500 and, comes in addition to other unplanned expenses facing her household.
