Help Ali Recover at Children's Hospital

Donation protected
We are fundraising to provide assistance for 11-year-old Ali Alnseri and his parents, Muhammad Alnseri and Noora Noori, as they stay at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C., and Ali undergoes serious chemotherapy and gene therapy treatment for his lifelong battle with Beta Thalassemia Major.

Ali was diagnosed with Beta Thalassemia Major when he was just a year old in Iraq. Ali's father, Muhammad, worked with United States soldiers during the war in Iraq, and his family came to Charlottesville via Jordan as refugees in 2020 to get medical treatment for Ali at UVA Hospital.

Ali has undergone monthly blood transfusions to help manage his symptoms, but the cutting-edge gene therapy treatment he is undergoing at Children's Hospital is an incredible chance to cure his illness. That chance, though, comes with a heavy cost for Ali and his wonderful family. Ali will undergo months of treatment and recovery, during which he, Muhammad, and Noora cannot leave Ali's hospital room due to the risk of infection from Ali's weakened immune system from chemotherapy. For 3 months, Muhammad has to take unpaid leave from his job as a commercial truck driver, and Noora cannot work either.

Everyone who knows Ali and his family knows how special they are. This is our chance in the Charlottesville community to show them how much we care about them and provide for them in their moment of need. We are hoping that you can contribute whatever you can to support them.
