We are Alina Nicolaiciuc & Hussain Sulaiman, and we are reaching out with a heavy heart to share our story. As an ER nurse, I have always been there for my community in their moments of need. My husband, Hussain, is known for his kindness and selflessness and is always ready to lend a helping hand, even to strangers. This June 2024, we fulfilled our dream of owning our first home in St. Petersburg, Florida. Unfortunately, our new beginning has had a turn after the recent Category 4 Hurricane Helene which brought devastating flooding, leaving us with 4 feet of water in our home. Included are videos and pictures after the water receded.

We lost everything— personal belongings, furniture, and cherished memories. The emotional and financial toll is immense and we need your support.

The donations raised through this GoFundMe will be spent towards:

• Essential living expenses: assisting with bills and groceries as we navigate this difficult recovery period.

• Paying for the insurance deductible to start the assessment process. Insurance is crucial in helping us recover from the damage, but before we can access those funds, we must pay a substantial deductible. This amount is necessary to initiate the assessment and repair process. Without covering this deductible, we cannot move forward with claims to repair our home, replace destroyed belongings, or address any structural damage. Every dollar donated toward this will directly contribute to getting our home back to a livable condition and restoring a sense of normalcy.

• Home safety: Once the insurance kicks in, we will still face numerous out-of-pocket costs, including securing our home against future disasters and addressing any mold, that is not covered by insurance. Your donations will help us ensure our home is safe and functional, and a place we can once again call our own.
