On October 11, 2025, our world was turned upside down. My 16-year-old daughter, Alina, was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma after a routine hospital visit in Las Vegas. What began as a concern over her health quickly became a life-altering emergency when doctors found a large mediastinal mass on her right lung during a CT scan. The situation was so critical that Alina had to be flown to Intermountain Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, where she underwent further testing and was ultimately diagnosed with this aggressive cancer.
Alina is an extraordinary teenager. A straight A student, dedicated soccer player, and flag football athlete, she has always been full of energy, passion, and determination. But now, Alina faces the toughest challenge of her life. She is scheduled to undergo six months of intensive chemotherapy, which means she will miss the remainder of her school year and all extracurricular activities.
As a mother, it breaks my heart to watch her face this battle. Alina has always been a fighter, but this diagnosis is a test none of us were prepared for. During this time, I’ve had to take unpaid leave from work to care for her, and I’ve already exhausted all of my paid time off. The mounting medical expenses and ongoing costs of treatments are overwhelming, and we need your help to ensure Alina can focus on her recovery without worrying about financial burdens.
Why We Need Your Support:
Medical Expenses: Alina’s treatment is extensive, involving chemotherapy, hospital stays, medications, and follow-up appointments.
Living Costs: With me on unpaid FMLA leave, covering our everyday expenses has become a struggle.
We are incredibly grateful for any support, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing Alina’s story with others. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to helping her beat this disease and get back to doing the things she loves.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, prayers, and generosity during this difficult time. Together, we can help Alina fight and come out stronger.
With love and gratitude,
