Two years ago, I suffered a stroke that changed my life completely. Before that, I had already been struggling with a serious back injury from work, which left me in constant pain and unable to sit or stand upright for long. The stroke made things even harder, and now I need nerve block treatments every three months just to use my right hand, which is my dominant hand. Despite these challenges, I’ve tried to stay positive and even started an online bookkeeping business, but I haven’t been able to find clients. My mind is still sharp, but my body just doesn’t cooperate.

I live with my partner of nine years, who has been my rock through all of this. He’s a disabled veteran and lost his business due to rising rents, but he still trains kids in baseball and softball when he can, even though work is slow. He helps me with daily tasks like getting food and showering, since I’m still very unstable. We’ve both been doing everything we can to get by, but our credit cards are maxed out and we’re struggling to keep up with rent and other bills. The stress of our situation is overwhelming, and I worry that it could send me back to the hospital if things don’t improve.

Getting support through this fundraiser would mean everything to us. It would help us catch up on bills, relieve some of the constant stress, and give me a chance to focus on my recovery.
