Hello everyone, my name is Alicia Richards. I was born and raised in Jamaica, but now I live abroad. Today, I’m writing this with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart.
Hurricane Melissa has completely torn through my hometown in Jamaica, leaving behind nothing but destruction and pain. My entire community has been affected homes are gone, lives have been turned upside down, and hope feels so far away.
My dad’s house was destroyed, and my family has lost nearly everything they own. Seeing photos as has broken me in ways I can’t explain. I may be far away, but my heart is still there with them in every memory, every street, every face I grew up knowing.
I’m pleading for help to rebuild my dad’s home and to support the families in our community who are suffering. Any help, whether big or small, means more than words can say. It brings hope where there’s despair, and light where there’s darkness.
Please, if you can, donate, share, or simply say a prayer for the people of Jamaica who are trying to rebuild their lives after this tragedy. Together, we can make a difference one act of kindness at a time.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, and caring.
With love and gratitude,
Alicia Richards
