Help Alice Fight FIP
Donation protected
My angel Alice is the most beautiful, loving cat I've ever known and I was devastated to learn that she may have FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a viral disease in cats caused by an immune response to corona virus. FIP can be fatal within weeks, but there is still hope for Alice if she starts treatment now. Please consider donating to help cover the costs of Alice's FIP medication and associated veterinary care.
More about Alice:
At less than a year old, Alice has had a rough start to life. She arrived at Citrus County Animal Services as an owner surrender, infested with fleas and tapeworms. After she was adopted, her new owner found out she was allergic. Alice was then taken in by a recent college graduate and aspiring software engineer (aka me). For a few months, Alice was finally at peace - free from fleas and queen of her own little wonderland.
Unfortunately, with fall came a threat to Alice's kingdom: hurricane season. For the second of two back-to-back hurricanes, Alice's family was in a mandatory evacuation zone. Adding to the stress, just a day before evacuating, Alice suddenly "ballooned up", developing an uncomfortable-looking potbelly while otherwise visibly skinny.
After Milton, Alice returned to a home without power or internet (she was disappointed that she couldn't catch up on her shows). She was finally able to see her local veterinarian when the office reopened. Expecting intestinal parasites or some other "easy fix" to be the cause of Alice's ailments, the prospect of FIP came as a shock. Given all that Alice has been through so far, she has proven herself to be resilient. Alice can beat FIP, but she can't do it alone. Will you join her army?
