On Sunday, July 15, Ali Mohsin's family of 7 lost their home and all of their belongings when fire raced through two floors of the Brooklyn building where they rented an apartment. While they are deeply grateful that everyone in the building escaped without serious injuries, they are overwhelmed by the enormity of finding a new rental apartment and replacing everything in their home (including furniture, clothes, linens, cookware, beds, a crib).
Ali is a hard-working, devoted member of the custodial team at a DOE public school on the Lower East Side (NEST+m). The 5 children range in age from 1-10.
