Help Ali in his recovering journey

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your help in supporting our brother, Ali. On January 28th, 2025, Ali suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. This tragic event led to a severe anoxic brain injury due to his brain being deprived of oxygen. Since that day, Ali has remained under hospital care. At 29 years old, Ali is the heart of our family. He lives with our parents, supporting them both emotionally and financially. Ali has always been known for his pure heart, patience, and deep love for his family, especially his young nieces and nephews. His friends describe him as someone full of life, who brings joy to any gathering. He loves soccer, video games, going to the gym, and traveling—he truly loves life.

Through extensive research and multiple consultations, we learned about hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBOT), a promising therapy for patients with anoxic brain injury. Hospital interventions have led to a slow but steady recovery, and Ali is now breathing on his own and showing brief signs of responsiveness. However, due to the severity of his injury, he needs immediate and ongoing care to maximize his chances of recovery. HBOT has shown in studies to help heal brain cells and improve outcomes in patients like Ali, but it requires a commitment of 100 sessions to be effective. This treatment is not covered by OHIP, and without support, it is financially out of reach for our family.

A large portion of the cost will go toward hospital transportation—ranging from $400 to $600 per day—with the remaining funds needed for the treatment itself. We are doing everything in our power to give Ali the best chance at recovery, and now we are turning to you—our loved ones and community—for support.
