Help Ali Begin Her Acting Journey in London

Hi, I’m Ali, a 23 year old aspiring actress and storyteller from Puerto Rico. I’ve dreamed of studying acting in London since I was 10 years old. It’s something I’ve held close to my heart for as long as I can remember.

Recently, I received the news that I was accepted into Central Film School in London to study BA Acting for Screen, and it was truly a dream come true. I was also awarded the Global Talent Award, a partial scholarship given to international students who show creative promise and potential. I’m determined to pursue this opportunity by any means necessary and creating this GoFundMe is part of that effort.

To be able to start this September, I must pay my full first year tuition in advance, as well as show financial proof for the UK student visa. This includes not only tuition but also visa application fees, healthcare surcharge, travel, and a minimum amount for living expenses while I study. Altogether, it is a significant amount and one that is extremely difficult to meet on my own in such a short time.

I am currently working full time and actively exploring every possible option from scholarships to financial aid and creative grants to help me reach this goal. But I have reached a point where I need support from my community and from people who believe in helping artists grow.

I have worked hard on building my creative voice from visual art to writing to performance and I truly believe this is just the beginning. I want to grow as an artist and bring everything I learn back to Puerto Rico. I want to create, perform, direct, and represent stories that matter, stories that are often overlooked. I want to be a part of a new generation of Caribbean voices shaping the future of screen and film.
