Alfie is an innocent 6 month old stray kitten , full of life, who lead her fellow outdoor litter about the neighborhood, on adventures! She always bravely stood in front, scoping out unsure grounds first, ensuring her brothers’ and sisters’ safety . The litter, along with the mother, all looked out for one another, with Alfie always leading the way. Every morning and afternoon, they would come by for their feedings, until suddenly two weeks ago, everything stopped in its tracks. No one showed up for the afternoon feed. We waited but there were simply no signs of them. The next morning, as we put down their morning breakfast, Alfie slowly emerged with her brothers and sisters on either side of her and her mom just in front. Something was wrong though. She was moving very slowly and was stopping every few feet. With each pause, her siblings also paused. As she got closer, our hearts sank as we saw her paw dangling and her back left leg dragging. We knew then that she was seriously hurt and we had to get her medical care. With the help of numerous beautiful souls, and some staking out, we were able to trap her and bring her to the vet. What was initially thought to be a broken leg, turned out to be fractured hip, requiring orthopedic surgery. Based on the X-ray and break, it seemed as if Alfie may have been hiding behind the tire of a car, when it reversed and clipped her leg. Dr Arias stated that a surgery of this kind could go up to $10,000. This is why I am here now. With the coordination of numerous organizations and rescues, we have been able to schedule Alfie’s surgery for October 27th, 2025 at Animal Surgical Center in Oceanside. We are however still seeking donations to help with her medical bills. Anything to help offset some of her medical expenses would be truly appreciated! <3 This surgery gives Alfie over a 90% chance of recovery.
