Help Alfarid get Cerebral Palsy adaptive equipment

Hi, my name is Semira and and I’m fundraising to help support Alfarid purchase adaptive equipment to help him with mobility and also to help cover his medical bills. Alfarid is my brother in-law. My brother married his sister recently and I was made aware of his situation not long ago, He is from Ethiopia, 24 years old and was born with a Cerebral Palsy since birth that left him with motor disability. Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a group disorder that affects a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture. It’s caused by damage that occurs to the immature, developing brain, most often before birth. The effect of Cerebral Palsy on function vary from person to person. Some people with Cerebral Palsy can walk and others need assistance. Some have intellectual disabilities but others don’t. Cerebral palsy is a long term disorder and no cure but treatments can help improve function. In the case of Alfarid his movement is very limited, he can’t walk, can’t speak, he can’t Sit and eats with assistance. He is bubbly and always smiling, even though all his life he spent laying on a bed on his back which left his back with pain and skin damaged. His family, they do everything they can in their power and to the very best of their abilities to love and care for him physically, emotionally and financially. In Ethiopia the support system for Cerebral Palsy is very limited which makes it very hard to have access to medical equipments that helps with assistance for a day to day life. Since his family can’t afford a wheelchair that supports or meets his medical needs he always have to rely on his parents and siblings to held him while feeding him, bathing him and taking him for a doctors visit. His family never lost hope they feel as if he will miraculously get better one day. They are strong and always helped each other in every way but since Covid 19 and the Economy in Ethiopia Jobs are lost and inflation at a record high. His Mother lost her job and his Father barely making enough money to support his family and take care of his beloved son Alfarid. Your support can help the family with easing the burden of Medical bills for Alfarid treatment and for the purchase of Equipment to help Alfarid give him a comfort in this short life and keep that smile on his face.
