I'm reaching out to you on behalf of my step-brother, Alf, who is currently facing hardship.
For those of you who don't know Alf, he spent most of his life as a rock climber and photographer in the Southwestern Desert living a modest lifestyle (watch this video to learn more about Alf's climbing life). In 2015 at the age of 58, Alf realized that due to his physical condition from age and injuries, his climbing days were over. He decided to move to a rural area of Washington to use his carpentry skills to build off-grid tiny homes for sale. Selling his homes did not turn out to be profitable, but for 8 years he had been able to sustain a simple life living with his cat Yang in the Methow Valley in one of the homes he built.
However, now he is facing a forcible eviction from the land he has been living on. With the arrival of the harsh Washington winter and no place to stay, Alf is in need of immediate assistance to make a move back to Moab, Utah, where he hopes to establish a new and stable life.
Funds raised will support Alf's travel expenses with his cat/companion, Yang, including transportation costs and essential living expenses during the transition. In Moab, Alf has been able to secure an off-grid home to live in when he arrives. Any additional funds would go towards the purchase of batteries to store the energy from his solar panels so he will be able to have electricity through the upcoming winter.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will be so helpful in getting Alf back on his feet. Please feel free to share this link so we can reach more people who may want to help Alf.
Thank you!
