My sister, Alexus Davis, and her two children are facing an unimaginable challenge after a devastating apartment fire at the Waverly Apartments in Gresham, Oregon on January 21, 2026. In a matter of moments, they lost everything—clothes, food, toys, and all the comforts of home. Right now, they’re staying in a small hotel room provided by the Red Cross, with only the clothes they had on when they escaped. The hotel is cramped, with no oven or space for the kids, who are just two and nine years old, to do their normal activities. The apartment manager hasn’t given any updates, so they have no idea when—or if—they’ll be able to return home.

The funds raised will help Alexus replace the essentials: food, clothes, shoes, socks, underwear, and diapers. It will also help provide toys and a sense of normalcy for her children, who are struggling to adjust to life in a hotel with nothing to do.
