Graphisoft North America urgently puts out a call to help one of our own. The 86-year-old grandmother of our Marketing Director Alex, as well as Alex’s grandmother’s caregiver, who stayed with her through the toughest part of their journey thus far, both need to be evacuated from the situation in Ukraine.
Alex’s grandmother lived in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, which has been devastated by the conflict. When the war began, she and her caregiver had to leave everything behind — clothing, food, all belongings. Her caregiver’s son was instrumental in getting them out of the war zone and into a safer part of the country.
As of March 9th, they were able to get to a small town in West Ukraine, but their next challenges include crossing over to a safer country, seeking medical, housing, and transportation resources. Planning, of course, is difficult as the situation is ongoing and key information is unknown. Long-term plans are fluid and the current priority is to get them to safety.
Any amount of help is appreciated and donations will be accepted from Monday, March 14th through March 21st. Please share this link with family and friends and let us wrap Alex, his family, her caretaker, and those seeking safe passage in Ukraine in care, love, and support.
