Hi, my name is Alexis Reuter. September 26th, I drove myself to the emergency room because of vision problems. Upon many tests, I was diagnosed with Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST) & Diplopia. CVST is a rare form of a stroke that causes blood clots in the Sinus veins of my brain. I was admitted to Blessing Hospital in Quincy IL for 6 days. I have a team of 3 doctors, a Primary, Hematologist and Neurologist. My care team told me I was a medical mystery as a person my age should not be suffering with my diagnosis. I will remain on blood thinners for an unknown amount of time as well as continue to be followed closely by my care team for detailed follow-up testing/visits. Currently, my care team is awaiting blood work they sent off to Mayo Clinic for further in depth specialized testing which I pray will result in more answers as to why all of this took place. I will be out of work until further notice per my care team. I am the soul provider of my home and would greatly appreciate any donations.
