Hello everyone, my name is Alexis Ayala. I am a 23 year old graduating student from West Texas A&M University with a BFA in Dance. Resident from El Paso, TX but moved to Amarillo, TX in 2020 to finish my degree. Those who know me, know I live, breathe, and eat dance. Dance has become a huge part of my life. With that being said, I’m very dedicated to my craft. With being a dance major, it requires a lot of time commitment.. all the rehearsals, concerts, shows, tech weeks, ACDA, spirit squad and school full time. This has made it complicated for me to be able to work because of the craziness of my final spring semester. I had to ask off of work from March 1st - April 10th, because of all the commitments I had going on. I’ll be working from April 10th- April 28th. On the 29th begins the preparation to pack and get things situated for a big move FOR MY FIRST DANCE CONTRACT AFTER COLLEGE! I signed a dance contract in Virginia for Kings Dominion, which is a VERY exciting step and start in my dance career. But, when it comes to the preparation, I’m having trouble finding the funds to make all of this happen due to school and other commitments which have hindered me from working. I have to pay out my lease for having to break it a couple of months early for the contract in VA. I have to fix my car and make sure it’s good to go for my drive from Texas to Florida where I’m moving to with a friend after graduation. The move to FL before VA will help so I can station some stuff in FL and not take everything to VA, and so I have somewhere to continue my training and live post summer contract. Since my vehicle isn’t in the best conditions, having to worry about travel and gas expenses, along with all the application fees/deposits/ half months rent that’s due move in day (May 17th) in Virginia. If i thought it were possible for me to do it alone right now, I would. This is where I’m asking for any help and assistance. I have been trying to make ends meet since I first moved to Amarillo for school, and it’s been paying off with this first job for the summer. This time it doesn’t feel the same. I’m starting to become more stressed, anxious, and helpless because I don’t know where I’m going to come up with all the funding to make all of this possible. Any help is greatly appreciated. A penny, a dollar, a prayer, literally anything helps. Thank you all in advance for helping my goals and aspirations come to be a reality.
