My name is Alexis and I am trying to further my career in dentistry, by getting my Bachelor of science in hygiene. There are very few programs in the metro area. They are also all very competitive, and I have finally been accepted into one!

I am so excited to start my journey and secure a more comfortable future for my son and I, but unfortunately my financial plan has fallen through. I am unable to use financial aid, and my situation does not meet the qualifications for the Northstar promise grant that's available here in MN. I honestly just thought about giving up, and letting the next person take my spot due to the financial burden (especially after talking to my financial advisor, who was more discouraging than helpful), but that just doesn't sit right with me. ..Being the sole provider of my household, I owe it to myself, and my son to make it happen! But also... being the sole provider makes it really difficult and almost impossible, to afford tuition out of pocket, on top all of my other responsibilities!

I have a payment plan in place with my university, and I am actively applying for grants and scholarships to help bring down the cost. I am taking on extra jobs, and making other sacrifices to make those payments, I just need a little extra help!

I am asking for 10K. This will help with 2 semesters which would be a HUGE help for me!! Every dollar will be sent to my school, and I literally appreciate ANYTHING. Thank y'all so much for hearing me out, and supporting!!!! (:
