My name is Alexis and I’m humbly asking for help. If you know me personally, you know I have always been very private. It brought me to tears to even reach out for help in this way, but I am desperately trying to keep some type of stability for my family.

I have experienced a series of hardships over the past 8 months. My youngest daughter, Joy, was born with congenital heart defects. In February of this year, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and failure to thrive. As a result of the numerous doctor’s appointments, hospital stays, and open heart surgery, I was unable to work. My partner also had to adjust his work schedule to accommodate taking care of our oldest daughter while I was at the hospital with Joy. As a result, we fell behind on our monthly expenses. As of today, Joy’s health is back on track. However, our expenses are not. We lost our apartment in August and have been living in an extended stay hotel since then. I am currently employed again and have been doing our best to catch up and get back on track. Unfortunately, my car was repossessed yesterday. I have been making payments to try to catch up, but it just hasn’t been enough. If I lose my car, I stand to lose everything; my job, my partner’s job, a place to live, transportation to/from school & doctor appointments, and the storage unit with all of our belongings.

The balance to retrieve my car is $3061.64. If not for me, please help for my children. They have been through more than enough, especially Skylar, after losing my mom. We are not lazy or dependent. We are a hard working, honest family who fell on hard times.
