Help Alexis Pay for Tumor Removal

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Alexis. I'm 25 years old, a wife and a mother of two. When I was 20 I was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called Familial Adenomatous Polyposis. While this causes a lot of ongoing health issues, the major concern is colon cancer. Immediately after diagnosis I underwent multiple surgeries that were supposed to prevent me from ever having to deal with that cancer again. Unfortunately there were a large amount of complications and recovery was hard. It took a while but after a few years everything was starting to return to normal.

About a year ago my health started declining and my doctors couldn't figure out why. After some invasive testing it was discovered that the surgeries I had were done wrong and did not accomplish what they were supposed to accomplish and the threat of cancer became real again. Luckily the polyps that were noticeable seemed low grade and a plan was put in place to take care of it before it became an issue. A few months after that was discovered my health declined rapidly again and I quickly became unable to function doing basic tasks. I lost my job and have been fighting for disability or medicaid insurance since then. We do have a disability lawyer, but it is taking time. That being said one of the final tests I got done before I lost my insurance results finally came in last month and it was discovered that I had a large mass growing in and around my gallbladder and pancreas. This is likely the reason I haven't really been able to eat anything besides soft/pureed foods for the past month Because the results are several months delayed it's hard to tell how much it's progressed but my doctor is recommending immediate surgery. He's advised that if it waits even three more months I may be in a position for longer treatment and potential terminal illness.

That's where this fundraiser comes in to play I guess. Before losing my job I was the main income for our family and while my husband works, he's not able to make up the income we lost when I stopped working. I've reached out to multiple cancer societies, organizations, and grants but haven't heard back from any of them yet. Time is of the essence and I don't know where else to turn to.

If you've made it this far thank you for reading, I really appreciate it. I understand that not everybody is financially in a position to help and I don't expect anyone's savings or anything but if there is anything you can spare we would greatly appreciate it. If nothing else, sharing this to get the word out would be a tremendous help as well. Thank you so much for your time.
