Dear Friends, Family and Community. My name is David Balfe, in July 2024 we received the devastating news that my partner Alexine, the mother of our son and the backbone of our family, has breast cancer, which spread to her lymph nodes.

Since then, we have been through a whirlwind of emotions, and hospital appointments as she continues on a long road to recovery and back to full health. Our world has been turned upside down, and many of our family plans have been put on hold while we go on this journey together.

Alexine went through 6 rounds of chemotherapy between August and November last year, alongside endocrine therapy which she still receives. Thankfully she is responding well and the tumour has localised.

On March 20th 2025 she began 15 rounds of radiotherapy to shrink further and destroy the cancer after which she will receive ongoing hormone therapy and may face surgery.

Her positive attitude and fighting spirit have humbled us all as she goes through this gruelling process.

We are grateful to have a support network to help carry us through this most difficult of times, and it is with hope that we reach out to you as we navigate this challenging journey.

We seek support for complementary physical, emotional, and nutritional therapies, as well as support and treatments that could significantly enhance her healing and recovery process.

We are reaching out to friends, family, community and anyone else who is moved to help with Alexine’s recovery to full health. Your contributions will go directly towards funding these therapies, ensuring Alexine has the best possible support on her path to recovery.

We have already invested a significant amount of money in renting a Hyperbaric Oxygen Tank which studies have shown can be effective in assisting with immune system support, tissue healing and chemotherapy. We believe that her daily use of this contributed greatly to the effectiveness of her chemotherapy.
