My name is Alexandria, and I’m reaching out for help for myself and my beloved cat, Squash. I’ve had Squash since I was 16, and he’s been my constant companion through every up and down. Just recently, Squash suddenly stopped acting like himself—he refused to eat, no matter what food I tried, and he started losing weight quickly. It broke my heart to see him so frail and not his usual purring, meowing self. I knew I had to act fast, so I called the vet and was able to get a next-day appointment.

At the vet, they ran all kinds of blood work and discovered that Squash has congested respiratory issues, hyperthyroidism, and elevated liver values. He needed several medications right away. The visit and treatments were expensive, but I couldn’t bear to see him suffer. Unfortunately, this has left me short on rent for the month, and I was only able to afford two weeks of his thyroid medication. I still need to get his thyroid levels rechecked and buy more medicine to keep him healthy.

With Squash’s 16th gotcha day coming up this Sunday, I want to do everything I can to make sure he’s comfortable and happy. The vet said that with the right care, Squash can enjoy a few more wonderful years by my side. Your support would mean the world to both of us. If you’re able to help, even a little, it would make a huge difference for me and Squash. Thank you so much for reading our story and for any kindness you can share.
