I refuse to be a statistic. As a first-generation student and a mother who started young, I’ve spent my life fighting to break the cycle of poverty and addiction. My dream is to become a Clinical Mental Health Counselor so I can help women escape abuse and find their purpose.
Last summer, while balancing the crushing weight of motherhood and grad school, I hit a breaking point. Under extreme stress, I made a mistake—I used AI on an assignment and failed a class. I’ve taken full accountability and am back in school to finish my Master's, but because I’m down to my final course, I no longer qualify for student aid. I’ve been DoorDashing daily to cover the basics, but it isn’t enough for the big bills. I am behind on rent and facing eviction, two months behind on car insurance (my only way to work), and struggling to pay for the final class that will change our lives.
I am so close to the finish line. I want to be the person who helps others find their light, but right now, I’m struggling to find my own. Your donation will go directly toward keeping a roof over my boys’ heads and helping me graduate. Thank you for giving a hard-working mom a second chance to give back to the world.
