Hello everyone, I am Alexandra. A mother of 4 beautiful children (pregnant with my 5th and final— due in just under a month!)

Recently, per Illinois law, we had our children’s lead levels tested and were absolutely thrown through a mental, emotional, financial and just over all HUGE loop.

Our babies have lead poisoning due to us having lead water pipes, lead paint and lead in our dirt outside.

We were aware of the pipes being lead, but we cook with and drink bottled/jugged water. We were unaware that the small amounts of water that our 2 youngest slurp from the tub would cause such an effect. We were also unaware that the paint chipping from our windowsills (inside and out) would contaminate our home to this point.

With a new baby coming soon and already having littles, the huge worry is that their lead levels will cause lasting effects and damage to their tiny bodies.

Therefore I am pleading for the help of friends, family, and community to help me right this, to help not only myself, but MOST IMPORTANTLY MY BABIES. I have no idea what the exact cost will be to get new pipes and paint, but I do know that anything will help tremendously. I am constantly on edge and need this issue fixed as soon as possible, but especially before we bring another new, tiny and fragile baby into our home.
