Help Alexandra Sussman and Elixir Salon
Donation protected

As a self-employed business owner, Alex receives no sick or vacation pay, covers her own health insurance and disability insurance. Her expenses, including rent, insurance and utilities for the salon, have continued throughout this time, with little relief. Although she has pursued all the supports that were available to her throughout the pandemic, it’s just not enough. Those avenues were only meant for short term temporary relief. At this point, with the debts she has had to incur to stay afloat, she will be paying this down for the life of the salon and for years to come.
Prior to the pandemic, Alex had plans for the future, both for the salon and for her family. Alex had planned to continue to invest in capital improvements for the salon, as well as pay off loans that had been incurred for prior improvements. Alex is also dedicated to ongoing professional development for her team, and had planned to continue investing in training for her staff as well as growing the salon by bringing on and investing in new talent.
Every little bit helps. Alex’s goal of $10,000 will help her stay afloat with rent and utilities for a few months. Anything above and beyond the goal will go toward longer-term survival for the salon, paying down the loans, and reinvesting in additional improvements so that when clients can return, the salon will be fresh and ready for them!
Regardless of the outcome of this fundraiser, there is NO plan to close the salon. It’s hard for Alex to ask for and receive help, yet she has heard from clients and friends that they are eager to show her how much they appreciate all that she does for them. This fundraiser is intended to give those who want to help a way to do so.
Please help with a donation today, even if it’s just a small amount. And if you’re unable to be in a position to help financially, please share widely! Thank you so much!
